Hydrographic Survey SIX WEST carries out hydrographic surveys of marinas, harbours, ports and inshore coastal areas, working up to 4Km offshore. Work is carried out throughout Ireland. Paul McCabe and Luke Willmott have over ten years experience carrying out hydrographic surveys in Irish and Scottish inland and coastal waters. Marine survey services provided include meteorological measurement, tidal monitoring and ADCP deployment in shallow waters. Position fixing is carried out using Trimble R6 RTK GPS. Horizontal positioning of the soundings is accurate to at least ± 0.1m rmse to Irish Grid, with vertical positioning accurate to ±0.15m rmse to OS Datum. Positioning data is recorded and plotted in real time by Trimble TSC2 field computer. Soundings are measured using a Midas digital echo sounder with positioning data streamed to it from the R6 unit Results can be delivered as 3D point data, ASCII format x,y,z files, contoured and/or colour banded to the customers own standard specification. Pre, post and interim dredge survey data can be processed to calculate volumes and presented to show over/under dig as easily read contoured or colour banded maps. Services include
